USF Squares Off Against Pepperdine for First Time on Saturday
USF (9-13, 2-7 WCC) will meet the Pepperdine Waves (10-10, 2-5 WCC) for the first time this season on Saturday at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu. Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m.
The game will be televised locally in the Bay Area on Comcast SportsNet California as the WCC's Game of the Week.
USF is coming off a 67-63 home loss to Saint Mary's on Wednesday, while Pepperdine dropped a 63-61 decision at home to BYU.
USF-Pepperdine Series
Dating back to the 1956-57 season, USF leads the all-time series with Pepperdine, 73-46.
The Dons and Waves have split their last 10 meetings, including last year, when each team claimed one-sided victories on their home courts. Pepperdine downed the Dons, 77-61 in Malibu, while USF scored a 78-63 decision on The Hilltop.
USF's last win in Malibu came in the 2008-09 season, when the Dons scored a 70-62 victory on Feb. 28th.
The two teams will play the second game of the season series on Feb. 23rd inside War Memorial Gymnasium.

After shooting just 32.7 percent (34-for-104) from the field in its previous two games vs. Santa Clara (16-for-50) and Loyola Marymount (18-for-54), USF has shot 45.9 percent (68-for-149) over the last three games against Portland, Gonzaga and Saint Mary's.
USF is 6-3 this season when shooting 50 percent or better from the floor, with its only losses in those eight games coming against Ole Miss (50.9) BYU (50.0) and the first game against Saint Mary's (51.0).
USF currently ranks sixth in the WCC in field goal percentage at 44.8 percent.
Freshman Tim Derksen ranks sixth in the WCC in field goal percentage at 52.3 percent (69-for-132) while

All but one of Adams' field goals this season has been a three-pointer.
Board Work
USF has been outrebounded in all nine conference games vs. Santa Clara (33-42; 29-42), BYU (34-38), San Diego (27-34), Saint Mary's (23-31; 22-42), Loyola Marymount (38-43), Portland (17-28) and Gonzaga (33-37) while averaging just 28.4 boards per game in conference play.
The Dons have been outboarded in 15 of the last 17 contests dating back to the St. John's game on Dec. 4 and rank eighth in the WCC in rebound average at 32.5 per game and ninth in rebound margin (-1.1). Defensive Doings
The Dons are allowing 68.7 points a game, which ranks eighth among WCC teams. Opponents are shooting 43.9 percent from the floor, which is the highest percentage allowed in the conference. The Dons also rank ninth in the conference in blocks (1.9) and eighth in steals (5.5) per game.
Dickerson's Doubles
Cole Dickerson has posted eight double-doubles in 22 games this season against Stanford (11-19), Cal State-East Bay (14-15), Columbia (10-14), Montana (19-20), Holy Cross (17-17), San Diego State (15-12), Dominican (30-10) and Santa Clara (17-12) and was a rebound or point away from double-doubles in five other games against Pacific (14-9), Nevada (11-9), East Tennessee State (19-9), BYU (22-9) and Saint Mary's (9-11).
The last USF player to average a double-double for an entire season was Darrell Tucker, when he scored 18.9 points and grabbed 10.1 rebounds a game in 2001-02.

Cody Doolin ranks third in the WCC and 31st nationally in assists per game (5.8). Doolin's career assist total now stands at 371, which ranks third on USF's all-time list behind Orlando Smart (902) and Gerald Walker (400).

Christiansen in the Middle
Matt Christiansen became the Dons fifth first-year player to earn a start when he was inserted into the starting lineup vs. Loyola Marymount on Jan. 19, joining De'End Parker, Tim Derksen, Tao Xu and Frank Rogers.
Christiansen has averaged 18.4 minutes a game over his last 12 contests after averaging 7.0 minutes a game over his first seven games. He is 15-of-25 (60.0) from the floor over his last six contests and is shooting 55.0 percent (22-for-40) on the season, including 58.6 percent (17-for-29) in conference action .
Dons Ironmen
Cody Doolin is averaging 33.9 minutes per game, which ranks third among all conference players, while
Cole Dickerson ranks sixth, averaging 32.7 minutes per game. Doolin has started all 91 games in his USF career.
USF Impressive in Overtime Under Walters
USF boasts an 8-1 record in overtime games under head coach
Rex Walters. The Dons only overtime loss came at Colorado State, 91-75 in the 2009-10 season.
Doolin Named to Captial One Academic All-District VIII Team
Cody Doolin was one of five players selected to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII basketball team, as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America in recognition of the nation's top student-athletes for their performances athletically and in the classroom.
Doolin, a native of Austin, Texas, carries a 3.68 cumulative grade point average as a finance major. He is currently the Dons second-leading scorer with a 12.2 points per game average and is averaging 5.5 assists a game, third-best in the West Coast Conference.
Four of the five players selected to the District VIII All-Academic squad hail from the West Coast Conference. In addition to Doolin, Matthew Dellavedova (Saint Mary's), Kelly Olynyk (Gonzaga) and Marc Trassolini (Santa Clara) also earned recognition. Holton Hunsaker of Utah Valley was the fifth member of the team.
District VIII comprises the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, along with Canada.
Doolin along with the other first team All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in February
