SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco men's tennis team came out of the gates strong to down the UC Davis Aggies, 5-2, at the Harbor Bay Club in Alameda, Calif., on Friday afternoon.

For the second straight match, the Dons secured the doubles point before following it up with three consecutive singles victories to seal the match. Germain Bahri made quick work of UCD's Niranjan Ram at the No. 6 position, winning 6-4 and 6-0 before Bernardo Saraiva and Thai Tu nailed down the USF victory with singles triumphs of their own.

With the win, the Dons climbed back above .500 at 3-2 on the season while the Aggies fell to 4-4.

“It was a good solid performance again today,” said USF coach Peter Bartlett. “These are the types of matches we feel really help our team grow and get confidence. Although it wasn't a perfect performance we got through the day. UC Davis put up a good fight but we were able to pull away when the match was on the line. We had solid performances from Germain Bahri and Bernardo Saraiva which helped our team get early momentum."
