SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco men's tennis team fell to the visiting Boise State Broncos by a score of 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the Cal Club, snapping USF's four-match winning streak and marking the third-straight win for the Broncos.
With the win, Boise State moves to 6-7 on the year, while the Dons fall to 5-3.
Senior
Thai Tu played a tightly contested match against No. 30-ranked Andrew Bettles, narrowly falling in the third set.
Sophomore
Bernardo Saraiva notched the lone point for USF on the day in addition to advancing to 7-0 in singles play on the spring.
“'We obviously played a quality opponent in Boise State, but we felt like we had opportunities to extend matches and the team didn't do a good job taking those opportunities and capitalizing on them,” said USF coach
Peter Bartlett. “Boise State made us pay, unfortunately. Today was a good lesson for our guys and it's something to continue to work on in practice and going forward.”
