SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco men's tennis team coasted to a 6-1 victory over the Portland Pilots in Friday afternoon's West Coast Conference showdown at the Olympic Club.

The Dons notched the doubles point for the 16th time in 18 matches behind victories from Thai Tu / Germain Bahri followed by Bernardo Saraiva / Nils Skajaa.

USF (11-7, 3-4 WCC) wrapped up the victory by opening singles play with consecutive victories from William Schumacher, Bernardo Saraiva and Nils Skajaa.

Ratan Gill picked up the lone point on the day for LMU (10-10, 2-5 WCC), defeating senior Thai Tu at No. 1 in a three-set affair, 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.

"We put a very good match together today,” said Dons' coach Peter Bartlett. “We were able to get back on track with our doubles play and really started strong in singles. We are really trying to stay focused to end strong in our last home matches and this was a good start. We have another tough one tomorrow against a high quality Gonzaga team but this win definitely gives the team confidence going forward."

The Dons close out the regular season on Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m. when they play host to the Gonzaga Bulldogs (0-7, 7-13 WCC).
