The San Francisco women's track team rounded off the weekend's competitions at a trio of meets Friday.
Highlighting the second day of action at the Mt. SAC Invitational in Walnut, Calif., was
Sophie Curl. The redshirt junior from Bellingham, Wash., competed in the 5,000 meters for the first time in her collegiate career and raced to a second place finish. Her time of 16:14.86 was three tenths off the race winner in the open division and more than five seconds faster than the third place finisher.
Kamilah Davis bested her school record in the 200 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. She finished in 26th place out of 75 competitors, clocking a time of 25.47 meters. Davis, a sophomore sprinter from San Jose, Calif., is also the USF record holder in the 100 meters.
Two runners turned in Top 5 performances and collegiate bests at the Woody Wilson Classic in Davis, Calif.
Sarah Pearson, racing at the 10,000-meter distance for the first time, finished in 39:14.86 to take fifth.
Kailey Ulland's mark of 11:17.18 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase was good for fourth place. She shaved nearly five seconds off her previous collegiate best time as the sophomore from Kent, Wash., turned in her top performance of the season.
The Dons are back in action in the Bay Area next week, slated to compete in the Brutus Hamilton Invitational Friday and Saturday in Berkeley, and Stanford's Payton Jordan Invitational on Sunday.
