Box Score LAWRENCE, Kan.—Nebraska jumped on the Dons in the first minute of play and put the game away with a pair of goals in the second half to roll to the 3-0 victory in the opening game of the Kansas Invitational on Friday afternoon.
 
Only 56 seconds after kickoff, Stacy Bartels was able to find Mayme Conroy on a long cross for the tap-in goal to give the Cornhuskers (3-2-1) the early 1-0 lead. It was Conroy's third goal of the season.
 
The Dons (4-2-0) kept the pressure on the Huskers in the first half and outshot them 9-6 and had opportunities with four corner kicks in the half. But Nebraska came out firing in the second period. Nebraska unloaded with 14 shots after halftime and put seven shots on goal. The Huskers kept USF goalkeeper Madalyn Schiffel busy for much of the day, who finished with four saves.
 
Nebraska got a penalty kick in the 64rd minute after Abigail Phillips was issued a red card and took advantage. Jordan Jackson drilled the kick to the back of the net for her second of the season.
 
Nebraska got on the board again in the 82nd minute when Katie Kraeutner found Jaycie Johnson with a pass and she got it past Schiffel for her team-best fourth goal of the season.
 
The Dons have scored two goals in the last four matches after starting the season by getting four goals in the first two games.
 
USF looks to rebound against the host team Kansas on Sunday.
