Alicia Scafidi, junior at the University of San Francisco, enjoyed multiple successes on the court and in the classroom in her first two seasons for the Dons. She landed a spot on the WCC All-Academic Team and helped the Dons to their first postseason win since 2007. But behind that smile to close the season was a young woman relying on her basketball family to help pull her through one of the darkest periods of her life.
Here, Alicia shares an emotional and heartwrenching look back at the past 13 months since losing her father, Tim. Despite her personal loss, her memories of her father's love an legacy propel her higher each day ... like a rocket.
