Just the Facts, Ma'am
The University of San Francisco women's basketball team hosts its first home game of the WCC slate, welcoming newest conference member, Pacific, to the Hilltop.
The Dons are riding a two-game winning streak after stringing together consecutive victories for the first time of the regular season.
What 2 Watch 4
The Dons sport a 7-7 overall record and currently stand in fourth in the WCC with a 2-1 mark. USF is led by four women who average at least 10 points a game.
Taj Winston (12.6 ppg),
Rachel Howard (12.3 ppg),
Zhané Dikes (11.9 ppg) and
Taylor Proctor (11.7 ppg) account for 67 percent of the Dons' offensive output. Proctor adds a team-best 8.1 rebounds a night, good for fifth in the WCC.
Know the Foe - Pacific
Pacific is paced by a trio of double-digit scorers, led by Kendall Kenyon's 17.7 points per game. Kenyon posts 11.1 rebounds per night, and stands fourth in the league in scoring and second in rebounding. The Tigers enter War Memorial Gym following an overtime loss at undefeated San Diego, after knocking off BYU on the road to start the New Year. Pacific's win over the Cougars on Jan. 2 is the team's only road victory of the season.
Pepperdine Remix
Paced by a career-high 22 points off the hand of
Taylor Proctor, the Dons used a dominating second half to crash the Pepperdine Waves, 77-61.
Taj Winston added a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double and
Rachel Howard added 13 in the win.
Paige Spietz added a career-high 11 points as Proctor, Spietz and
Claudia Price each grabbed seven rebounds in Saturday's victory.
USF's win over Pepperdine followed a victory at Loyola Marymount, as the Dons swept its road trip to LA for the first time since 2002-03.

Devine's Dimes
"It will be exciting to see a first on Thursday, when the Dons face Pacific for the first time ever as a WCC rival. My understanding is Pacific left the WCC back in the early 70's so their football team could align with what later became the Big West, so returning to the WCC has made sense ever since Pacific dropped football. Â
"It's great to see the Tigers back in the WCC, and it's going to be fun watching rivalries bloom between Pacific and many other schools, especially the other 'originals' - Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, and San Francisco!"
On the Horizon
USF continues its four-game homestand Saturday against Bay Area rival, Saint Mary's. Next week on the Hilltop, the Dons face Gonzaga and Portland in a rare Friday/Sunday game rotation.
Dishing and Swishing - 2013-14 WCC Highlights
SoCal Sweep
For the first time since 2002-03, the Dons traveled to LA for two games and escaped Southern California with two victories. Junior
Taj Winston led the charge, averaging 18.0 points on 45.8 percent shooting, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.0 assists in USF's pair of wins.
Taylor Proctor came up big at Pepperdine, posting a career-high 22 points as the Dons crashed the Waves.
Comeback Kids
USF posted the largest comeback in the
Jennifer Azzi era during non-conference action, after overcoming a 16-point deficit to defeat UNLV. The come-from-behind win against the Rebels was the first double-digit lead erased in the past three seasons. Since that contest, USF has found itsself down by 10 or more points only to go on to win at Boise State (12 points), at Loyola Marymount (11 points) and at Pepperdine (10 points).
