The Buzz
San Francisco is looking to keep its undefeated home record intact as it welcomes Utah Valley to War Memorial Gym. The Dons, 4-1 on the year, are seeking their fifth straight home win. Should USf pick up the victory, it would be the first time since 2007-08 to notch five in a row on the Hilltop. Â A 5-1 start would be a first since 1994-95 where USF opened with a 6-1 mark.
#WeAreSF
The Dons have three women averaging double-digit scoring in the early-goings of the season.
Taylor Proctor posts a team-leading 11.6 points and 8.8 rebounds a night,
Zhane Dikes adds 10.8 points and 6.0 rebounds, and
Taj Winston is averaging 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.4 steals per game.Â
USF's deeper, stronger bench, a welcome addition to the 2014-15 roster, is averaging 25.6 points per game.
Know the Foe
Utah Valley is led offensively by Rhaiah Spooner-Knight, who put up 15.7 points per game on .533 shooting. The Wolverines also get double-digit scoring from Mariah Seals' 10.5 points a contest. Karlee Norris crashes the boards an average of 10.5 times a night to pace the team. Utah Valley stands at 3-3 on the season, most recently dropping a Wednesday-night game at USF's next opponent UC Davis, 59-49.
Last Time Out
USF dominated in a 62-48 victory against Nevada Tuesday. The Wolfpack began the night with the lead, opening with a 9-3 run, but the Dons would speed back into control with an 18-0 run that spanned more than six minutes of game action.Â
The Dons were paced in the win by sophomore guard
Rachel Howard, who poured in a game-high 16 points on a hot-handed 5-of-8 shooting in the first half of action.
Zhane Dikes, junior from Las Vegas, Nev., came up with a stat line of 11 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three assists in the decisive victory. USF's other double-digit performance came from senior
Paige Spietz, who added 10 points and collected seven rebounds in the contest.
Strong Start
USF's early season start matches some streaks that have been on the books for decades:
The Last Time ...
The Dons opened the year 3-0 - 1983-84
The Dons opened the year 4-1 - 1996-97
The Dons won four straight at home - 2012-13
USF's 3-0 mark was just the fourth in program history (since 1976).

Hustle Up
The Dons have been hustling and bustling this year, holding wide margins in points in the paint, points off turnovers, and points off the bench. 53.7 percent of USF's overall points on the season have been scored in the paint, and 34.2 percent of the Dons' scoring come off opponent's turnovers, where USF has forced foes into 95 total turnovers on the season.
USF also leads in second chance points and fast break opportunities, taking the cake in each hustle category.
