SAN FRANCISCO – Bernardo Saraiva netted the Dons' only point as San Francisco men's tennis fell to newest conference foe, Pacific, 4-1 at the Cal Club Tuesday afternoon.

USF's junior from Lisbon, Portugal, picked up his point in resounding fashion from the No. 1 singles position. He downed Pacific's Daniel Alameh 7-5, 6-1 from the top spot of the match. With the victory, Saraiva moves to 9-3 in the dual match season, and 15-7 overall including his fall mark. He is riding a four-match winning streak and has taken seven of his last eight, including a win over No. 60 Facundo Lugones of TCU.

The Tigers took three other singles points, at Nos. 2, 3, and 4 along with sweeping the doubles point to start the day.  The Dons have lost their last four meetings with Pacific, dating back to a 4-2 win over the Tigers Feb. 7, 2010.

With the loss, USF moves to 8-6 on the season and remains winless (0-2 WCC) in conference action. Pacific evens its record to 6-6 in its first-ever West Coast Conference match.

Next for USF is a trip to Hawaii to face two stout competitors. The Dons will face No. 18 Oklahoma State Monday at 3 p.m. PT, before meeting up with Hawaii Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT.
