SAN FRANCISCO—For the second time, San Francisco goalkeeper Madalyn Schiffel has been named to a USA national team, this time the USA U-20 team.

"I think it's going to be great," Schiffel said. "Playing at the highest level is always good for your game.  I'm excited to compete there."

The sophomore was named to the U-18 team last year but said she wasn't fully prepared for it. This time around, she said, she is healthy and ready to go.

"I was just excited," Schiffel said. "Last time I wasn't really prepared fitness wise. This time I'm ready."

She is one of 62 members of the team and one of two West Coast Conference players named to the squad along with Santa Clara's Andi Tostanoski. Schiffel started all 20 games in the 2013 season and posted six shutouts on the season, tied for fourth in the WCC.

The first camp will take place from Apr. 13-20 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
