| The Basics The Stanford Invitational, held Friday and Saturday at Cobb Track and Angell Field, welcomes over 3,300 athletes in two days of action. The entries will include student-athletes from 114 four-year colleges, plus community college and high school teams. 2014 marks the 30th year of the meet. In its seventh iteration, San Francisco State's Distance Carnival will have a total of 24 states with schools represented in the field. The meet features a pool of 1,300 athletes from over 150 teams across the country. The two-day event will take place rain or shine at Cox Stadium. The Dons will send a contingent to both meets as USF will be in action at the track all weekend long. Last Time Out USF hurdler, Eleni Fkiaras, bested her own top mark in the 400 meter hurdles, taking second at Cox Stadium, with a time of 1:04.67. Laticia Lonon also finished runner-up in her event, throwing the discus 38.91 meters. In the 1,500, Elena Burkard opened up her season in earnest and outpaced the field with a time of 4:27.32. Kamilah Davis continued to sprint strong, taking third in the 100 and 200 meter dash. Dons in the National Rankings Released March 25, the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its initial outdoor poll. The USF women come in ranking 69th, with four women finding themselves in the Top 40 of their respective events. Senior Sophie Curl makes the list in both the 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters for the Dons. . The Week 1 polls are slated for release April 8.
