
Underclassmen lead Dons at Aggie Open

Davis, Calif. -- Several underclassmen highlighted the Dons performance at the Aggie Open on Saturday in Davis, Calif.
Sophomore Daryl Phill finished second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:41.26, while teammate and freshman Kelsey Nielsen placed third with a time of 4:44.63. Both runners finished close behind Teresa Mallory, of Sacramento State, who won the event in 4:36.63.
Freshman Kenya Shakoor was also among the underclassmen leading the Dons on Saturday.
Shakoor finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 11.44m, matching her personal best. She finished behind Catherine Li, of UC Davis, who won the event with a distance of 12.20m.
Another underclassman secured a top-10 spot for the Dons.
Sophomore Asaundra Dalton placed ninth in the 100m dash, with a time of 12.68, while teammate Skylar Fenton placed 14th in 13.05.
In the 400m hurdles, junior Eleni Fkiaras placed fourth in 1:05.36.
The Dons return to the track next Saturday at the Johnny Mathis Invitational in San Francisco.
