SAN DIEGO - The No. 55 USF men's tennis team suffered a loss against No. 21 University of San Diego, falling 4-0 this afternoon.

"This was a very competitive match and the USD team did a better job than us converting big games in the end," said head coach
Pablo Pires de Almeida. "Now we look forward to our home match schedule to finish the season."

The Dons got off to a great start in doubles play where
Christian Brockstedt and
James Tallman came out the gate with high intensity and dominated at second doubles to defeat their opponents Romain Kalaydjian and Uros Petronijevic 6-0.

Thomas Takemoto and
Vasco Valverde just missed the mark at third doubles against Ciavan Fitzgerald and Geoff Fosso in a close match of 7-5, filled with back and forth action.

The Dons were unable to close the Toreros down in singles, where USD took No. 3, 5, and 6 singles.
Bernardo Saraiva however, came back from a 3-0 deficit in his first set against No. 58 Petronijevic to claim the first set of his unfinished match 7-6 (1).

USF men's tennis will head back to San Francisco where they will compete against Pepperdine on April 3, at 12:30 p.m. at the Olympic Club.
