Mark Tollefsen has announced his intention of pursuing his fifth year of eligibility at another school next season as a graduate transfer following his graduation from the University of San Francisco this spring with a degree in advertising.
"I want to thank everyone who has supported me during my four years as a Don," said Tollefsen. "I've had expriences that have made me more mature, a better person and also a better basketball player. I couldn't have had these experiences anywhere else but USF. I'm going to be proud to graduate alongside the guys I came in with and enjoy the moment as that was our goal from our first year together."Once again, I just want to thank all of my teammates, coaches and all of the fans and alumni who have supported me. I'm looking forward to following God's plan for me."Tollefsen, who redshirted as a freshman in 2011-12, earned second team All-West Coast Conference honors this past season after leading the Dons in scoring with a 14.0 point per game average. He also ranked second in rebounding (5.4) and field goal percentage (.535). In 96 career games, Tollefsen scored 1,036 career points for a 10.8 point per game average, pulled down 396 rebounds (4.0) and shot 54.0 percent from the field, including 37.4 percent (106-for-283) from three-point range. He ended his USF career by making 70 consecutive starts over the past three seasons dating back to the last five contests of the 2012-13 campaign.
"We want to wish Mark nothing but the best and appreciate his efforts over the last four years," said USF head coach Rex Walters.Â
