A successful soccer squad requires a field general in goal; one who can direct her teammates, anticipate the next shot, and most importantly, make the crucial save. The USF Dons' women's soccer team has had that luxury for most of the past three years in the form of senior keeper Madalyn Schiffel.

Her playing career for the Green and Gold has been felt on the pitch, as she became the USF career leader in shutouts in goal with the Dons' 2-0 win at Oakland this past Sunday. Schiffel surpassed Amy Voiland (1994-98) with her 22nd-career shutout.

Her teammates have felt her presence as a leader. Her coaches at USF have viewed her as an example of hard work and dedication. Her family has looked to her accomplishments with pride - as a player for USF and a loving daughter, which is evident in her relationship with her biggest fan, Grammie.
