It was a night to remember for
Kim Gutierrez and her teammates in Moraga even though the game's outcome left little to be desired. Gutierrez recorded her 1,000th career dig in the game, a feat that has been accomplished only seven times before in USF history. The junior libero has had a memorable string of notable performances as just last match against LMU she took sole possesion of eighth place on the all-time digs list in USF history. Gutierrez finished the night with 11 digs and an ace.
USF Head Coach
Vicki Brown noted the importance of Gutierreaz's success and the impression it leaves on her young team. "It shows our players, especially our younger players, when you work hard and stay focused you can accomplish some really awesome things," Brown said. "Reaching 1,000 digs in her junior year, halfway through conference, shows her determination to make plays. Determination and hard work really do pay-off."
