USF to Compete at Johnny Mathis

SAN FRANCISCO –– The USF men's track and field squad will send Adrian Shocks and Katoa Ahau across town on Saturday to participate in the Johnny Mathis Invitational at Cox Stadium on the San Francisco State University campus.

Ahau, coming off a redshirt season last year, will be making his 2016 debut in the javelin while Shocks will take part in the triple jump.

"It will serve as a good rust-buster for those student-athletes who did not compete indoors," said head track and field coach Helen Lehman-Winters. "They have been training and fall and winter and ready to get the outdoor season rolling."

Shocks will get underway in the triple jump at 12:30 p.m. A few hours later, Ahau will compete shortly after the women's javelin at 2 p.m.

Following this weekend's events, the Dons will next compete in the Nor Cal Opener in Berkeley on March 5, followed by the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala., beginning on March 11.
