SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The San Francisco beach volleyball team closed out the regular season with a pair of matches at Livermore Community Park on Saturday afternoon, falling to the hosting Sacramento State Hornets and Cal Poly on the day.

In the opening match of the day, the Dons took a point from the Hornets on Court 1. USF's top tandem of Nora Buvarp Lavik and Emily Reed dispatched Maddie Cannon and Morgan Stanley, 21-14, 21-15, to secure the straight-set victory.

At No. 2, Camille Araujo and Marjolijn Oskam put together a first-set challenge against the Hornet team of Lexie Skalbeck and Brie Gathright before falling 21-17, 21-10. USF's No. 3 pairing of Dane Miller and Carly Lowry were tough on the sand in both matches on the day. The duo pushed Sarah Davis and Kennedy Kurtz to a 21-16, 21-19 final score, and then challenged Cal Poly's Raegan Grieson and Brayden Gruenwald  in a three-setter. Miller and Lowry took the first set from their Mustang foes 21-17 in the hotly-contested match.

USF's No. 4 team of Kate Ashman and Shannon Levinson didn't make the win easy for Sacramento State's Lana Brown and Skyler Takeda, pushing the second-set score to 21-17 in the loss. On Court 5, Montana Green and Trish Koutsoukos also made a second-set run against the Hornets, scoring 13 points in the final frame.
