SEATTLE, Wash. – The University of San Francisco track and field team will send 19 athletes to compete in the University of Washington Invitational at the Dempsey Indoor Stadium for the second time this season.
Â
The premier event on the docket for the Dons will be the distance medley relay. USF will have two teams competing in the DMR, highlighted by the team of
Alena Ulrichova (1,200-meters),
Samantha Lind (400m),
Emma Stahr (800m) and
Marie Bouchard (1,600m) who will compete in section 3. In the same section, the Dons will come up against distance powerhouses Boise State and Washington.
Â
Lind will look to build off her school record-setting 400m mark at the Washington Preview, as she competes in the 200m this weekend, along with her participation in the DMR.
Asaundra Dalton will join Lind, competing in the 200m for the first time this season. Rounding out the action for Friday will be
Frederique Latraverse and
Kelsey Nielsen who go head-to-head in their 5,000m heat.
Â
On Saturday, Stahr will toe the line in the one mile, being joined by fellow Don
Lea Meyer, who will be hitting the track for the first time as a Don. They both will compete in section four, with those heats beginning at 11:40 a.m.
Â
Finishing the competitions for the women's side on Saturday will be Ulrichova who will take to the track to compete in the 400m.
Â
The women's team will be joined by a handful of USF men's track and field runners –
Jacob Allen,
Mohamed Aziz,
Hugh Nicklason and
Jack Rowe. Nicklason will take to the track on Saturday to compete in the one mile, beginning at 12:05 p.m. Rowe highlights the group of Dons competing in Saturday's 3,000m. The junior holds a personal best time in the 3,000m of 8:13.52, which he set in 2017.

QUOTES
Head Coach Helen Lehman-Winters
On the fitness of the team heading into the Washington Invitational
"We are looking forward to our second of many trips to the Pacific Northwest. It is still very early for us, but we are a little further along than we were two weeks ago. This will provide us with another opportunity to test our fitness."Â
Â
On competing in the women's DMR
"We are excited to see what this group of talented women can do together on the track on Friday evening. The DMR is an exciting event as it blends the sprint, middle and long distances so it should be a lot of fun."
