SEATTLE, Wash. – The University of San Francisco track and field team heads to Seattle for the fourth and final time this season to compete in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships held at Dempsey Indoor.
Â
Kicking off the meet on Friday will be several USF runners participating in the 200-meters and the distance medley relay. The team of
Lea Meyer,
Samantha Lind,
Alena Ulrichova and
Frederique Latraverse will hit the oval for the entertaining DMR. The team will look to improve on the school record set earlier this season.
Â
School-record holder in the 200m,
Asaundra Dalton, will take to the oval in that same event on Friday evening. This is the senior's marquee event. In her last race at the Washington Invitational, Dalton posted a mark of 25.14, which was the team's fastest time on the day.
Â
Saturday will see a full slate of runners from USF compete in multiple events. Lind will compete in 400m for the third time of this indoor season. Lind holds the school record in the event, posting a mark of 55.78 in her first race as a Don in the UW Preview.
Â
After setting a school record in the 3,000m (9:10.95) at the Husky Classic,
Marie Bouchard will change events to compete in the one mile against the country's best in that distance. Joining Bouchard will be freshman Meyer who will look to build off her race in the 3,000m at the Husky Classic, which saw her post a personal best time of 9:25.00.
Â
Emma Stahr and Ulrichova will compete in their signature event, the 800m, for the second time in the indoor season. The last time out, in the Husky Classic, both Stahr and Ulrichova put in solid races, finishing with marks of 2:12.17 and 2:10.28, respectively.
Â
Competing in the 4x400m event will be the team of Lind, Dalton, Stahr and Ulrichova. This veteran team will look to top the school record of 3:51.28, set two weeks ago at the Husky Classic.
