EUGENE, Ore. – University of San Francisco Track and Field distance runner
Charlotte Taylor capped off her final race in the 2018 NCAA Track and Field Championships with an 11
th place finish in the 5,000m on Saturday night at the historic Hayward Field.
Having put in an All-American effort in the 10,000m just two days prior, Taylor took to the track for her final race as a Don in the 5,000m final. It was a packed field but Taylor stayed competitive throughout 12 and a half laps, keeping herself amongst the leading pack for a majority of the race.
In the final two laps the leaders separated themselves from the Dons' senior. Taylor captured 11
th place, crossing the line with a time of 15:49.70, narrowly missing the top eight for All-American honors by two seconds.
Taylor finishes her career as one of the most decorated athletes in USF history, earning two All-American honors in track and field, while also garnering two All-American honors in cross country. Her greatest award, however, was her national title in the 10,000m, which she won in 2017.
