SAN FRANCISCO — After a huge road win last week, the University of San Francisco men's soccer team appeared in two nationally ranked polls this week entering at No. 16 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and No. 2 in the Western Region Poll on Sept. 4.

No. 16 San Francisco stands before Friday night's competitor, Stanford as they are ranked at No. 25 by the United Soccer Coaches Poll. In the United Soccer Coaches' West Region Poll, the Dons stand at No. 2 leading four other West Coast Conference foes.

The Dons took down the Bruins, 1-0, as Sean Bowman's goal came in the 52nd minute after a scoreless first half. Bowman scored on a counter attack, where Jorge Ruiz controlled the ball up the right side finding Bowman on the left for the score. This victory handed the Bruins their first loss of the season. Bowman's game winning goal was awarded WCC Player of the Week.

San Francisco will face No. 25 and three-time defending national champion Stanford at 7 p.m. on Friday.
