Frankie Ferrari was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week following a strong week in which the Dons went 2-0 in WCC play to improve to 16-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Ferrari, the Burlingame, Calif. native, continues to be the catalyst in the Dons' stellar season. While battling the flu, he helped guide the Dons to a pair of conference wins as USF climbed back into second place in the WCC standings and jumped 10 spots in the NET rankings to No. 38.
For the week, Ferrari led the Dons with 28 points, averaging 14.0 points per game while dishing out 4.5 assists. He shot 47.8 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from 3-point range. In the Dons' 19-point win over BYU he was at his best finishing with a season-high 21 points, 18 coming in the second half. He shot an astounding 72.7 percent from the field going 8-for-11. From beyond the arc he shot with surgical precision going 4-for-6 from long range, all while dishing out seven assists as the Dons snapped an 11-game losing streak against the Cougars.

Overall, Ferrari is averaging 13.8 points per game and 5.4 assists per game. In conference play he is averaging 15.2 points per game and 4..8 assists per contest. The Dons are 16-3 for the first time since 1981-82 season. USF has started 4-1 in conference play for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
