The University of San Francisco men's golf team will play its final fall tournament this week when the Dons travel to Pebble Beach, Calif., to play in the 14
th Annual Saint Mary's Invitational which will be located at the famed Poppy Hills Golf Course.

The Course
Nestled in beautiful Pebble Beach, Poppy Hills will host the Saint Mary's invitational for the fifth consecutive year. This week, it will be playing a par-71, 7002 yards. Opened on June 1, 1986, the Robert Trent Jones Jr. design has since co-hosted the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am from 1991 through 2009, as well as the Spalding Pebble Beach Invitational (1989, 1990, 1992 and 1993) and 1991 NCAA Championships.
The Field
The 15 team field includes five teams that are listed in Golfstat's top-50 including four that are in the top-25. The Dons, currently ranked No. 60 in the latest Golfstat rankings, they will square off against BYU (6), Arizona (14), Oregon State (17), Colorado State (20), and San Diego State (36). Tournament host Saint Mary's is ranked No. 64, also competing are Coastal Carolina, Fresno State, Oregon, New Mexico, Pacific, Santa Clara, Toledo, UNC Wilmington, and Utah.
The Dons
USF has had a tremendous fall. The Dons have participated in three top-tier tournaments and have recorded back-to-back second place finishes at the Maridoe Invitational and the Oregon State Invitational. For the third time this year, the Dons will be going with a different lineup.
Soren Lind returns after missing the last two tournaments, he will be joined by
Tim Widing,
Toby Briggs,
Matthew Anderson, and
Christoffer Palsson. Between the trio of Anderson, Palsson and Widing there are four top-10 finishes. Anderson boasts two top-10 finishes and has finished no worse than 12
th this fall. Widing is coming off his best tournament of the year, finishing third at the Oregon State Invitational, he finished with a season-best 4-under 209 after recording three rounds at par or better.
Tournament History
Traditionally, the Dons have done very well at this tournament, last year was no different. After a rough second round, USF came roaring back to finish in ninth. Widing led the charge for the Dons climbing 30 spots on the leaderboard in the final round. USF's 282 in the final round was the third lowest score by any team.
