USFDons.com will announce the members of the 2019-20 USF Women's Basketball signing class throughout the spring. In this first release, the Dons announce the signing of two record-setting and dominating transfers who already have collegiate experience.
SAN FRANCISCO — The University of San Francisco women's basketball team has added two highly talented and decorated transfers for the 2019-20 season, signing Leilah Vigil, a transfer from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and reigning Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, and Lucie Hoskova, an All-American guard from Brno, Czech Republic, via Casper College in Wyoming.

Vigil had a record-breaking year for UMKC in 2018-19, her first season of collegiate basketball. The freshman from Montbello, Colo., was named the WAC Freshman of the Year while averaging a double-double across 31 games (11.2 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game). She set the Roos' freshman rebounding record with 309, shattering the previous record by more than 70 boards.

She was fourth overall in the WAC in rebounding, which included being the WAC's top offensive rebounder with 4.1 o-boards per contest. She was also among the WAC's best in scoring (11th, 11.2 points per game), field goal percentage (3rd, 53.0%) and steals (t-13th, 1.5 per game)

Vigil also had an incredible prep career, earning Colorado High School Activities Association all-state honors and first team all-league accolades in each of her four years. She scored more than 1,500 points in high school and as a senior in 2017-18, was named the state tournament MVP while earning two first team all-state honors (CHSAA, Denver Post). She averaged no less than 13.5 ppg in all four years of high school while playing for both Highlands Ranch and Grandview high schools.

Hoskova earned National Junior College Athletic Association All-American Honorable Mention accolades in 2018-19 after leading the Casper College Thunderbirds to a 27-7 record and an appearance in the District IX championship game. She averaged a team-best 17.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. She also had 2.0 assists per game and totaled 24 steals while playing in all 34 of the Thunderbirds' games with 33 starts.

In her first year of college basketball in 2017-18, she helped lead the Thunderbirds to a District IX championship while averaging 12.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. She had six 20-point games in her freshman season, including showing her propensity to step up in big situations with consecutive 24 and 22-point performances in the District IX championship game and the first round of the NJCAA Tournament, respectively.

Hoskova also has plenty of international experience. She has appeared in European Championships every year since 2013. That includes a first-place finish in 2018's U20 Division B Women's European Championship, where she averaged 13.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. She also helped her U16 team finish second in the A Division in back-to-back years in 2013 and '14.
