Laura Mendez Camps will join the Dons in 2019-20 and bolster the point guard position with her deep international experience.

USFDons.com will announce the members of the 2019-20 USF Women's Basketball signing class throughout the spring. In this second release, the Dons announce the signing of an immensely talented freshman point guard from Spain that is poised to have a bountiful career on The Hilltop.

SAN FRANCISCO — The University of San Francisco women's basketball team has added another talented international floor general at the point guard position for 2019-20, as the Dons announced the signing of guard Laura Mendez Camps out of Cerdanyola del Vallès, Spain.

20934Laura Mendez Camps comes to San Francisco with an impressive national and international resume that includes multiple top-five finishes at European and Spanish championships. She helped lead her team to Spanish Championship titles in 2013, '15 and '17 and a bronze finish in the Catalan Championships in 2017.
 
Playing on multiple national teams for Spain, she was part of the country's fifth-place finish at the U16 European Championship in 2017 and a sixth-place finish at the U17 World Championship in 2018. Mendez Camps was also a part of Spain's fourth-place finish at the U18 3-on-3 European Championship.
 
She averaged 7.0 points 3.0 rebounds and an impressive 4.0 assists per game during her career with the Spanish national team. That career spanned her time with the U16 national team at the 2017 European Championship and ran through the U17 World Championship in 2018.
