MGOLF | Jack Kennedy Names Jalen Griffin Volunteer Assistant

SAN FRANCISCO – University of San Francisco men's golf head coach Jack Kennedy is pleased to announce the hiring of Jalen Griffin ('18) as volunteer assistant.

"We are excited to have Jalen continue to work with our program," said Kennedy. "He provides valuable experience having been a student-athlete in our golf program. Jalen will play an important role in skill development and on course management. The program is better with Jalen being a part of it!"

Griffin, a four-time letter winner for the Dons from finished his career in 2018 when the Dons competed in the NCAA Bryan Regional.  Griffin appeared in 35 tournaments in his career, he tallied four top-20 finishes including one top-10 finish.  He was named to the All-WCC Honorable Mention team his senior year after finishing ninth at the WCC Championships that season.

"This is an incredible honor and opportunity to come back after being a student-athlete at USF and now leverage my experiences and knowledge to be an Assistant Coach for this program," said Griffin. "There is no person I'd rather work with than Jack Kennedy. I've seen first-hand how he motivates his players, makes them trust the process with each and every practice, and ultimately brings success to this program on a national level. This will be a big season for us. With a special group of players, I'm confident we will make it a memorable one."

The Dons begin the 2019-20 season on Friday, Sep. 6 when they travel to Rocky Face, GA to play in the Carpet Capital Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia Tech.
