MSOC | Dons Push No. 14 Cal State Fullerton to the Brink

SAN FRANCISCO — Sunday night was a showdown between the University of San Francisco men's soccer team and No. 14 Cal State Fullerton. Both teams combined for three second half goals, but Fullerton held on for the 2-1 win over the Dons at Negoesco Stadium.

"I am proud of the team's effort tonight, there were much more positives than negatives. We will continue to build on the strengths of this game and continue to improve every match. A full week's rest and training will prepare us for Saturday's match against Cal," said head coach Leonard Griffin

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • San Francisco (2-5-0) opened the scoring at the beginning of the second half. The play started at the 48th minute mark when Zyan Andrade's free kick swerved to Cameron Martin that found Sandro Bradara who tapped the ball past the goalkeeper. Bradara scored his first goal of the season and recorded his fourth career-goal.
  • No. 14 Cal State Fullerton (7-0-0) improved their unbeaten winning streak to seven. The Titans responded just five minutes later as Christian Pinzon scored his fifth goal of the season with an open header at the left corner of the goal at the 53rd minute mark.
  • Titans' Oscar Flores scored the go-ahead goal as he struck the ball from the top of the box after receiving a cross pass from Sebastian Cruz. Flores scored his fifth goal of the season.
  • San Francisco played well throughout the entire match. Both teams were knotted up with five shots on goal and five saves heading into the second half. Ashish Chattha and Bradara led the team both with two shots on goal.
