USF AT A GLANCE
• USF is 5-2 on the season and riding a season-best three game winning streak which started with a rout of Nevada on the road. The Dons are coming off a 107-62 win over Long Beach State, USF's home debut. The Dons are 1-0 at home, 2-0 in "true" road games and 2-2 in neutral site games. USF is 9-6 on the road in the Golden Era.
• Three-straight by 25 or more: USF had a warm welcome at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center defeating Long Beach State 107-62 on Thursday evening. The win gave the Dons three-straight wins by 25 or more. After the Dons defeated Cal Poly by 28 it marked the second-consecutive road win by 25 or more. The last time the Dons recorded back-to-back road wins of 25 or more came on Feb. 27 and Mar. 3, 1973 when the Dons defeated LMU and Pepperdine.
• USF enters Saturday's contest averaging 79.9 points per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field. Their opponents are averaging 67.1 points per game and shooting 38.8 percent from the field. Over the last three games, the Dons are averaging 93.3 points per game while holding their foes to 60.7 points per game - a +32.6 margin.
• Dons From Distance: USF continues its torrid pace from long range. The Dons have taken 217 attempts from beyond the arc, connecting on 85 of them. USF's attempts rank second in the nation behind Liberty's 223 attempts. The Dons lead the nation in made 3-point field goals and are third in 3-point field made per game at 12.14. USF is holding their opponents to 27.5 percent from distance and four made 3-point field goals per contest.
Said Golden about USF's 3-point shooting following USF's 18 made threes against Long Beach State: "You know what its who we are a little bit roster wise and I'm fine with it. I think we take good ones. When we make them, in stretches like we did tonight we can really extend and get big leads. You've got to live with the volatility a little bit, there's going to be some nights where you don't shoot it great, but we have shooting talent. I think on most nights we will be consistent in that way and if we can continue to get stops we will keep being able to extend."
• Splendid Debut: Yes, there were no fans in attendance - but transfer guard Damari Milstead dazzled in his debut at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. The redshirt junior who played his first two years at Grand Canyon finished with a game-high 24 points - one shy of his career-high - going 7-for-11 from the field and 4-for-6 from distance. He also had six assists.
• The Pac-12: Saturday will be the first of back-to-back Pac-12 matchups for the Dons. On Wednesday they travel to Los Angeles to take on USC. All-time the Dons are 91-143 (.389) against West Coast's other conference. Under Golden the Dons are 1-2 against the Pac-12 having defeated Cal at home, but fell to ASU at home and Stanford at Maples Pavilion.
Series
Sunday marks the 79th time the Dons and Golden Bears have squared off. All-time, Cal owns a 46-32 advantage in the series. However, the Dons are riding a two-game winning streak against the Bears, having one on the road and at home the last two years. In Berkeley, the Dons are 13-25 all-time -however a win on Sunday would make the Dons 2-2 at Haas Pavilion which opened in 1999. The series dates back to 1914-15 when Cal defeated then St. Ignatius University, 31-13. Should USF earn the win against the Bears on Sunday it will give USF its first three-game winning streak over the Bears since the Dons did it from 1978, '79, and '81.
