USF AT A GLANCE
LAST TIME OUT
The Dons opened WCC play in Provo, Utah and left their 3-point shooting in the Bay Area. USF scored a season-low 46 points - the power outage from distance a big contributor to that.  The Dons were just 3-fora-24 from beyond the arc.  The Cougars held Ioanna Krimili, one of the nation's top scorers well below her season average.  She and Lucie Hoskova finished with 10 points apiece.  BYU went on to win 70-46.

46%
In the loss to BYU on Monday, the Dons fall to 0-3 on the year when their opponent shoots 46 percent from the field or better.  The Cougars, finished the night 29-for-62 from the field (46.8).

OFFENSE/DEFENSE
USF continues to score a frenetic pace.  The Dons entered this week averaging 86.5 points per game which ranks 15th in the nation and tops in the WCC.  USF is allowing 75.8 points per contest which ranks 279th in the nation and ninth in the WCC.  USF shooting 47.2 percent from the field which ranks 28th in the nation and 10th in the WCC.  Their opponents are shooting 40.6 percent from the field which ranks 189th in the nation.

A WIN WOULD MEAN...
• The Dons would improve to 2-2 following a loss.
• Improve the Dons to 3-3 on the road.
• Give Goodenbour her 300th career win at all levels.
• USF would improve to 5-2 in December this season and 19-14 in December in the Goodenbour era.
• Give USF their first win over San Diego since a home win on 12/29/18.
• Improve to 5-3 on the year and 1-1 in the WCC.

TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
The Dons are 2-1 when they have fewer turnovers than their opponent this season.  USF is one of the nation's better teams at taking care of the ball.  They currently rank 68th in assist/turnover ratio at 1.04.  They are 65 in turnovers per game and second in the WCC averaging 14.2 turnovers per contest. Against BYU the Dons turned it over 16 times to the Cougars 14.  That proved to be a big difference, as BYU converted USF's 16 turnovers into 18 points, meanwhile the Dons only scored seven points off BYU's 14 turnovers.

THE SERIES
Wednesday will be the 76th time the Dons and Toreros have faced each other.  USD owns a 43-32 advantage in the series which has gone the Toreros way in recent history.  San Diego is riding a three-game winning streak and is 23-11 dating back to the 2005-06 season.  At the Jenny Craig Pavilion, the Toreros are 29-11 against the Dons.  The last time these teams faced each other came on the Hilltop, with USD coming away with a 61-58 win on Feb. 20, 2020.  The last USF win came at home on Dec. 29, 2018, 68-57.

SCOUTING REPORT: SAN DIEGO TOREROS
