The University of San Francisco women's basketball is back in action after having a day off on Saturday.  The Dons will host Loyola Marymount for a 2:00 p.m. tilt.  Monday's game will be streamed on the WCC Network with George Devine handling play-by-play duties.

The Dons fell to 0-2 in WCC play with a 61-54 at the hands of San Diego at the Jenny Craig Center on Wednesday. The Dons led by 11 early in the first quarter but were unable to hang on for the win.  Turnovers played a big role in the Dons loss. The Dons turned it over a season-high 24 times. USD capitalized by turning those 24 turnovers into 22 points.

THE SERIES
Monday is the 85^th time the Dons have faced the Lions.  All-time the Dons own a 47-37 record in the series that dates back to the 1984-85 season when USF defeated LMU 79-64.  In the Goodenbour ERA, the Dons are 6-4.  Last season the Dons and Lions split the season series with the home team coming out on top both times.  Last time out, USF defeated LMU on the Hilltop 70-68 on Feb. 8, 2020.  In that game Lucie Hoskova had 17 points and six boards.

The Lions ended a five game ski on Saturday when they defeated Santa Clara 66-57 on the road.  For the year, the Lions are 2-6 and are 1-2 in the WCC after falling to Gonzaga and Portland at home.  On the road this year, the Lions are 1-3.  As a team, they are averaging 58.4 points per game while shooting 40.9 percent from the field.  Their opponents are averaging 68.1 points per game while shooting 37.8 percent from the floor.  Three players average more than 10 points a game with Ariel Johnson leading the team at 13.0 points per contest.  LMU is -5.3 in rebound margin this year, they average 34.9 rebounds per game while their opponents are grabbing 40.1 rebounds.
