PROVO, Utah- Returning to the road for their first of two matches away from home, the University of San Francisco volleyball team (0-19, 0-11) fell to No. 7 BYU (20-1, 10-0) in straight sets, 3-0, on Thursday evening.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Battling close to begin, the Dons would jump out to an early 7-5 lead following four consecutive attack errors from the Cougars. Trading points in the moments to follow, BYU ultimately pulled away in the first set on the strength of a 7-1 run to close the action as they secured their first match point with a 25-19 set one win.
- Moving into the second set, USF once again took an advantage to start after a kill from Sophie Sydenham put the Dons on top, 5-4. In the moments to follow, the Cougars responded once again to grab control, this time on the strength of a 4-0 stretch that put them in front, 10-7. Similar to the first set, BYU took a 2-0 lead in the match following a 5-0 run to end the second set as the Cougars hung on, 25-15.
- Staying with striking distance shortly thereafter, USF trailed by only one point midway through the third set, 11-10, after a kill from Kellen Martins. Buckling down when it mattered most, BYU would defend their home court with 6-0 and 5-0 runs down the stretch to wrap up the third set, 25-14, and notch their thirteenth consecutive victory.Â
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Adding to her team lead, Shyia Richardson paced USF with 7 total kills while also tallying 5 digs and 1 assist.
- Overall, three Dons registered exactly four kills on Thursday: Sydenham, Orsula Staka and Hannah Kinnison. Notably, Kinnison also recorded three digs and two block assists while Sydenham posted two digs and one assist herself.
- For Aylen Ayub, the Argentinian logged her third double-double in her last four matches as she finished with a team-high 17 assists and 11 digs respectively.
