BUILDING THE STREAK:
- USF closed out their non-conference home schedule going undefeated after dispatching the Northern Colorado Bears last Sunday 70-59.
- Friday and Saturday will be the second and third neutral site test for the Dons after they lost to Cal at Chase Center earlier this month.
- Sunday's win over the Bears showed how the opportunistic Dons defense can lead to easy offense on the other end as they scored 33 points off Northern Colorado turnovers.Â
- Ioanna Krimili continues to be one of the premier offensive forces in the country averaging 17.5 points through four games and shooting over 50% from the field and 44% from three-point land.
- Amalie Langer has established herself as one of the most tenacious defenders in the conference as she's averaged 3.5 steals this season, including swiping the ball away from UC Davis six times for a new career-high. Langer is currently tied for the lead in the WCC for steals and is also twenty-fifth nationally.Â
- Lucija Kostic had a breakout game last time out, as she dished out a season-high eight assists, while scoring seven points and collecting three rebounds and steals in the winning effort.Â
- Jasmine Gayles has been a tremendous addition to the Dons through her first four games as she's scored in double figures in every game for an average of 15.3 PPG to begin her USF career.Â
THINGS TO KNOW:
- Friday's matchup with Idaho will be the third time the schools have matched up with the Vandals winning the first two contests.
- While Saturday's matchup against the Drake Bulldogs will be just the second matchup between the two universities with the previous game a Drake road win in 1997.
- Sunday's weekend finale will be the sixth meeting between the Dons and Wolfpack, with USF holding the 3-2 advantage and the most recent win a 2015 victory in Reno.
SCOUTING THE VANDALS:
- Idaho enters Friday afternoon's game with a 1-2 record with recent losses to future USF opponents Washington State and San Diego.
- Guard Louise Forsyth leads the Vandals averaging 17.0 PPG through the first three games of the season to go along with 5.3 rebounds and a 50% shooting percentage.
- Members of the Big Sky conference, the Vandals finished second in the conference last season with a 14-3 record finishing a game behind regular season champion Idaho State.
- Senior guard Tiana Johnson will be important to keep out of the paint, as she leads Idaho early in the season with 6.3 rebounds per game.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:
- The Bulldogs utilize a fairly balanced offensive system with three scorers averaging between 11 and 12 points so far this season.
- Drake finished second last season in the Missouri Valley conference with a 13-5 record overall behind Missouri State who went undefeated in conference play.
- Redshirt junior forward Grace Berg leads the Bulldogs with an average of 12 PPG to go along with 5.7 rebounds and two assists.
- USF will need to be aware of Drake's outside shooting ability with starters Maggie Bair and Katie Dinnebier each shooting will over 50% from deep to begin their seasons.
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK:
- This weekend's tournament hosts enter with a 1-2 record with losses against fellow WCC schools Santa Clara and Saint Mary's.Â
- Nevada has a great spark off the bench in freshman guard Audrey Roden who's averaging a team-high 13.3 PPG so far this season.
- The Wolfpack finished in the middle of the pack in Mountain West play last season with a 9-7 record in conference play.
- Senior guard Da'Ja Hamilton is second on the team with an average of 12 PPG as well as a team-high 10 total assists this season.
