MGOLF | Dons Sit in First After 18

COTO de CAZA, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's golf team was leading the field midway through the second round when play was eventually halted due to the darkness. After 18 holes, the Dons are leading the Orange Country Classic Invitational after shooting a 1-under 287 at the Par-72 Coto de Caza South Course on Monday.
All six Dons who competed finished in the top-25 with five in the top-15. Soren Lind sits atop the leaderboard after 18 holes after shooting a 4-under 68. Lind finished the day with five birdies and 12 pars. The lone blemish on his strong opening round was a bogey on the par four 15.
Toby Briggs and Alex Chin are currently tied for seventh after shooting even par 72s. Briggs opened the tournament on fire with birdies on three of the first five holes. He finished the day with four birdies. Chin, who was competing as an individual, had a strong second nine holes. He finished the traditional back-9 with three birdies.
Matthew Anderson finished third for the Dons with a one over 73, he is currently tied for 11th. Tim Widing is tied for 15th with a 2-over 74 and Christoffer Palsson is tied for 21st with a 3-over 75. The trio combined to cared seven birdies, with Widing recording three.
The Dons will resume the second-round tomorrow morning at 8:45 a.m. and finish the tournament with the final 18 immediately after. Fans can follow live results at Golfstat.com
