SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The University of San Francisco women's golf team sat in sixth place Monday after two rounds at The Gunrock Invitational hosted by UC Davis at Del Paso Country Club.
The Dons were led by Annika Borrelli, who was one-under for the day after shooting a 71 in round one and an even-par 72 in round two. Borrelli sat tied for 13th on the individual leaderboard. Joan Soewondo joined Borrelli in the top-20 with rounds of 73 and 72 to sit at one-over heading into Tuesday's final round.
Toni Sottile shot 75 in the first round, but came back to match Borrelli for the Dons' best individual round of the day with a 71 in round two. She sat only two spots behind Soewondo in a tie for 22nd. Hannah Zeman was USF's fourth scorer with rounds of 73 and 77. Pearl Rojanapeansatith was tied for 43rd overall with a total score of 151 (77-74) on the day.
San Francisco sat ahead of nationally ranked UC Irvine (7th), Boise State (8th), Nevada (9th) and Santa Clara (11th) after day one. Stanford was the team leader through two rounds with a 556 team score, 13 strokes better than second-place San Jose State.
The tournament concludes with third round play Tuesday. The shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m. Links to live results can be found on Golfstat.com and on the Dons' schedule page.
