MBB | Three Earn All-WCC Honors

SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference announced its all-conference selections today, and three members of the University of San Francisco men's basketball earned honors. Senior Jamaree Bouyea was named to the All-WCC First Team, while juniors Khalil Shabazz and Dzmitry Ryuny earned second team and honorable mention honors.
For Bouyea this is the first time he has earned first team honors, last season was named to the honorable mention team. The senior from Seaside, Calif., amassed 402 points in 23 games, averaging 17.7 points per contest which is sixth in the WCC. He finished in the top-10 in the WCC in six statistical categories. With his 402 points scored it gives him back-to-back seasons with 400 or more points, he joins Charles Minlend (2018-20), Frankie Ferrari (2017-19), Tim Derksen (2014-16), Kruize Pinkins (2013-15), and Cole Dickerson (2012-14) as the only players in the last 10 years to accomplish this feat. This season, Bouyea became the 39th player in USF history to score 1,000 career points. He currently has 1,101 points which ranks 29th all-time. Bouyea finished the regular season shooting 49.8 percent from the field which ranks fifth in the WCC. He was fifth with 1.52 steals per game. His 142 steals rank fourth all-time and with 124 games played his is tied for eighth most in USF history.
Shabazz combined with Bouyea to give the Dons one of the best scoring backcourts in the country. Shabazz finished the year with 359 points, averaging 15.9 points per game. He finished ninth in the WCC in scoring and 11th in field goal percentage, shooting 36.8 percent from the field. The 6'1" guard from Seattle, Wash., with his quick release jump shot is currently 40th in the nation in 3-point field goals made with 60. Shabazz had seven 20-point games this season, including a pair of 30-point performances.
Ryuny finished his breakout campaign playing in all 23 games making 19 starts. He put up career-highs in nearly ever statistical category. He finished the year with 209 points, averaging 8.9 points per game, while shooting 41.0 percent from the field. From beyond the arc he shot 37.5 percent going 47-for-137. Ryuny was the Dons' leading rebounder grabbing 128 rebounds, averaging 5.6 rebounds per game. He had three of the Dons four double-double on the year.
The Dons return to action on Thursday when they take on No. 9 San Diego on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Thursday's game will be televised on Stadium and streamed on the WCC Network. Pat Olson will have the Dons' radio broadcast on the home of USF Dons Basketball, KNBR 1050-AM.
