Unfortunately for the Dons, the visiting Pilots returned serve as the two teams settled for a 0-0 tie on Sunday afternoon at Negoesco Stadium.
USF (4-4-2, 3-2-2 WCC) ends year two under head coach
Leonard Griffin on a high note. USF, picked to finish last in the West Coast Conference in the preseason poll, will finish the year third in the conference standings.
It is the fifth time this season that USF has held an opponent scoreless. Defensively, the Dons were relentless. The Pilots (3-3-3, 1-2-3 WCC) were held to just nine shots on the day, with only one shot on goal.
The opening half featured little in the way of offense. Both teams combined for just seven shots with the Dons taking five and the Pilots taking two. USF put two shots on goal and the Pilots had one on target.
Senior
Ruben Stuiver started in goal for the Dons, he picked up a save giving him 217 for his career which is sixth all-time. Fellow senior

USF's attack finished the day with 12 shots, six on goal. LMU's keeper Jacopo Viola earned the clean sheet with six saves. None bigger than his save at the last second on a deep free kick by
Ivo Neto. The free kick started right in front of the Dons' bench; the high arching shot was punched over the bar at the last second by Viola who was caught briefly out of position.
Neto led all players with four shots on the day, three on goal.
