
MBB | Four Dons Named to NABC Honors Court, Program Takes Home Team Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of San Francisco had four players named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court and the team took home Team Academic Excellence Awards as announced by the NABC on Wednesday morning.
Graduating seniors Taavi Jurkatamm and Emmanuel Nwabueze, junior Dzmitry Ryuny, and former Don Damari Milstead earned distinction. To be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically, post a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, and play as a member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
Nwabueze, a marketing major with a 3.5 GPA, makes his second appearance on the list, having also taken home the honors last season. Jurkatamm, Ryuny, and Milstead all earned WCC All-Academic honors earlier this year.
Jurkatamm graduated with a degree in International Business and a 3.29 GPA. Ryuny is a management major with a 3.69 GPA. Milstead earned WCC All-Academic First Team honors his first year eligible; he is also a management major with a 3.79 GPA.
For a team to earn the Team Excellence Award Honors, the program must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. This marks the second consecutive year under Head Coach Todd Golden that the Dons have earned Team Excellence Award Honors. USF finished 2020-21 with a team GPA of 3.48. In the spring, USF had nine players finish the semester with a 3.0 or higher.
