USF Remembers Former Don Bryce Kaminski

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's soccer family is saddened to acknowledge the passing of former student-athlete Bryce Kaminski, who played on the USF men's soccer team from 2014-17.

Born to Rob and Amy Kaminski, Bryce was a critical piece of the Dons resurgence in the West Coast Conference as the four-year starter appeared in 69 total contests during his time on the Hilltop, which included 57 total starts.

Originally from San Clemente, Calif., Kaminski picked up his first collegiate goal on Oct. 5, 2014 against Loyola Marymount. Overall, he tallied five points and took 26 shots during his first year on the Hilltop as he was named to the WCC All-Freshman team for his efforts.

Closing out his career on a positive note, Kaminski also was named an All-WCC Honorable Mention in 2017 as he started and appeared in all 17 games for the Dons. That season, Kaminski registered six goals and three assists, which included scoring or assisting in four consecutive games against Saint Mary's, Gonzaga, Portland and San Diego. With a 6-1 record in conference play in 2017, USF was crowned West Coast Conference Champions as the Dons went on to take down Cal in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament before falling at No. 4 Lousiville.

Kaminski is survived by his parents, Rob and Amy, his siblings Schyler, Madison and Treslyn and his son Maverick.

Memorial services will be held on June 21, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif.
  REMEMBERING BRYCE KAMINSKI:
"Bryce was someone you always wanted on your team because you knew he'd have your back. Ever since we were kids, he was a natural leader. His passion was inspiring to everyone around him. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family and we will always cherish the memories we shared with him" – Santiago Digiuseppe, former USF student-athlete

"Bryce and I shared the same passion, soccer. We played on the same team when we were young and then again in college where we were able to win a conference championship. During these 4 years I got to know him as the amazing human being he was... the true definition of a good friend, a hard worker, and a warrior. There was never a dull moment with him, always filled with laughter and fun times. Through all his ups and downs I witnessed in college, he always maintained a smile and a good attitude. I am truly heartbroken that this special soul left us all so early. In memory of Bryce, for as long as I keep playing the game he loved so much, he will always be on my mind and I will play my heart out for him." – Aaron Lombardi, former USF student-athlete

"Vanilla Bryce is what I called him...I was heartbroken to receive the news. He was the core of a group of men who have made an incredible impact on my life. There wasn't a day that Bryce didn't put a smile on my face. He taught everyone a lot about life, on and off the pitch. Bryce was always seeking to enjoy each moment and embracing his opportunity to be a father to Maverick. Despite how sad I feel, I still can't help but smile when I think of him. May Bryce's legacy live on through his son and the incredible memories we were all lucky to share along his journey." -Stephanie Ludwig, former USF athletic trainer and current Portland Timbers head athletic trainer
