SAN JOSE, Calif. - Back in action this weekend, the USF Dons beach volleyball team (0-11) faced two opponents to begin the San Jose State tournament. Starting the day at 9:00 a.m. against the host team, the San Jose Spartans (6-4), the Dons fell just short of a win with a final score of 3-2. Following that match, they played against the Oregon Ducks (4-12) at 2:00 p.m. as they battled hard but finished with a score of 4-1.
In their first match, the Dons had two pairs record individual victories to put them on the board against the Spartans. Claire Crijns and Branson Lennon won their matchup over three games and Sophie Solomon and Isadora Nicolai did the same. Against the Ducks, the solo win for the Dons came from Letizia Aquilino and McKenna Towne which marked their third victory as a duo.

Heading into their last day of tournament play tomorrow, March 18, the Dons will have two more games at Spartan Beach in San Jose. First they will play against CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners (6-3) at 9:00 a.m. followed by a matchup against Boise State Broncos (11-4) at 2:00 p.m.
