CLOVIS, Calif. -- With only a few more weekends of competition on the calendar before championship racing kicks off, the USF Dons outdoor track and field team are making the most of every opportunity and will be sending a large team for the 2023 Fresno State Invite at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
On the women's side, the 1,500 meters will be an event to watch, as eight Dons will compete across the four heats, with
Abby Pradere leading the way as she looks to secure a convincing west regional qualifier and dip under the 4:20 mark. The 800 meters will again see the strong duo of
Julia Morales and
Lorie Cashdollar lining up over the two lap event.
After a few weeks off, many of the USF sprinters will return to the track, ensuring the Dons are being well represented across the board. One student-athlete to watch is
Olivia Alexandre, as she comes off a huge performance in the 800 meters at the Payton Jordan Invitational, and this weekend will compete in her main event the 400 meter hurdles, where she is ranked 34th in the west region, along with
Imani Wyatt.
There will be four Dons racing in the 100 meter dash, led by
Sophia Priester-Veasley and the competition will be rounded out with the 4x400 meter relay. On the men's side, the Dons will be well represented in the 5,000 meters as there will be six participants in the distance event, led by
Ed Buck.
Caleb Haugland and
Daniel Abramowicz who will compete in the 1,500 meters looking to replicate another sub four-minute race and
