SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Returning to Scottsdale for the second time in three years, the University of San Francisco men's golf team is hungry for their first-ever national championship as the Dons will compete in the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championships over Memorial Day weekend at Grayhawk Golf Club.
Fresh off of a fourth-place finish at the Las Vegas Regional, USF is looking to advance to match play at the NCAA Championships for the first time in program history.

FORMAT:
- Teams will play four rounds - 18 holes per day from Friday – Monday – before the top eight teams advance to match play.
- Should the Dons advance, the schedule calls for the national quarterfinals and semifinals on Tuesday before the national title match Wednesday.
- Teams will be seeded 1-8 with the following matchups: 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, 4, vs. 5.
- Golf Channel broadcast schedule for the finals at Grayhawk (all times ET):
- 5:00 p.m. on May 29: Final round/individual stroke play
- Noon and 5 p.m. on May 30: Quarterfinals team matches; semifinal team matches
- 5:00 p.m. on May 31: National championship team match
DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Last week in Vegas, USF played their best three rounds in program history as the Dons set a program record by finishing 45-under as a team to place fourth overall at the Las Vegas Regional. Competing at Bears Best Las Vegas, graduate student Matthew Anderson tied for first to secure his first individual win at the collegiate level while Jakob Melin (T-14th) and Ben Partridge (T-19th) also each finished inside of the top 25. As a team, USF finished second overall in the field in Par 4 scoring (-21/3.86 avg) and total birdies (77).
- Having competed in the national championships in 2021, Anderson has familiarity with Grayhawk after suiting up for the green and gold just two springs ago. In that tournament, Anderson finished 30-over-240 (78, 83, 79) as the Dons finished 29th overall as a team.
- In recent days, Anderson, Melin and Partridge all earned All-WCC Honors, including Melin being named the WCC's Freshman of the Year. In the classroom, Anderson was also named to the conference's All-Academic First Team while Harry Brown earned was tabbed as an Honorable Mention.
