DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Last time out on the hardwood, San Francisco fell to San Diego State in a 73-62 contest last Saturday, Nov. 16, in Southern California.
- Leading the team in scoring against the Aztecs, Elle Papahronis poured in a career-high 15 points, including nine made free throws, in a team-high 33 minutes of action. Following two double-digit performances off the bench last week, scoring 12 points last Tuesday against Portland State, the Edmond, Okla., native earned WCC Freshman of the Week honors on Monday, marking the first weekly award for the team this season.
- After tallying five double-doubles at Detroit Mercy last season, Emma Trawally Porta logged her first double-double as a Don, with 12 points and 10 rebounds on five-of-seven shooting, all season-highs. In the young season, Trawally Porta leads the Dons in field goal percentage (56.5, 13-23) and three-point percentage (50.0, 5-10).
- Debora dos Santos continues to lead the green and gold in scoring and rebounding, averaging 12.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Her rebounding average ranks fifth in the WCC while being 18th in scoring.
- As a team, San Francisco ranks among the best teams in the conference in opponent points per game (second, 54.5), opponent field goal percentage (second, 32.1), rebounds per game (second, 44.8), and blocks per game (third, 6.75).
- San Francisco will play at the home of the seven-time NBA Champion Golden State Warriors for the fifth time in the last six campaigns, playing at Chase Center every season since the arena's opening, apart from the 2020-21 COVID-shortened season. The Dons hold a 1-3 record at Chase Center, picking up their first win on December 4, 2022, against San Diego State.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS:
- Boise State has been perfect to start the 2024-25 campaign, winning all four games this season. Last time out, the Broncos eased to an 86-34 victory on Monday night against the College of Idaho.
- In his 20th season at the helm of the Broncos, Head Coach Gordy Presnell looks to lead Boise State to its first Mountain West regular season title and first NCAA Tournament appearance in six seasons.
- Coming off a WNIT appearance last year, Boise State was selected to finish fourth in the Mountain West preseason poll, with junior Bay Area native Natalie Pasco being the lone Bronco to earn a place on the Preseason All-MW Team.
- Following an All-Mountain West Team selection last season, Pasco leads Boise State in scoring so far in the young season, averaging 11.0 points and 2.3 made threes per contest.
SERIES HISTORY:
In five meetings since the 1990-91 season, Boise State holds a narrow 3-2 advantage against San Francisco. The Dons are currently on a two-game winning streak over the Broncos after dropping the first three meetings in 1990, 2005, and 2006. The green and gold most recently defeated the Broncos 76-70 on the road at Taco Bell Arena, now ExtraMile Arena, on December 14, 2013, in Boise, Idaho.
