OMAHA, Neb. - Battling through a weather delay in their first road test of the season, the University of San Francisco men's soccer team (0-1-2) fought until the final whistle on Thursday afternoon but ultimately fell to Omaha (3-0), 1-0, at Caniglia Field.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- With defense writing the script early, Olivier Sylvain fired the opening shot of the match at the 12:01 mark, but missed high.
- Within the first 30 minutes of play, Alex Solomis, Reid Roberts and Brayden Beason each attempted a shot of their own, but none could find the back of the net to put San Francisco in front.
- At 26:06, David Raphael tallied USF's first shot on goal, but opposing goalkeeper Nathanael Sallah denied the freshman's shot.
- Although Junhwan Park, TJ Knight and Zane Alafranji would each get a chance at the goal in the minutes to follow, Omaha struck first on a penalty kick goal from Theo Klein at 42:02. Overall, the Dons outshot the Mavericks 10-7 overall in the first half, but Omaha held a 1-0 lead after 45 minutes.
- Coming out of the locker room, Joe Core registered his first shot as a Don at 59:13, but Sallah denied the green and gold once again. Towards the 70-minute mark, Junhwan Park fired back-to-back shots on goal, but Sallah turned away the attack to keep San Francisco off the scoreboard.
- Down the stretch, Sylvain, Roberts and Gabriel Bracken Serra kept pushing to find the equalizer, but the Dons could not find the angle they needed to squeeze one past the keeper. Despite battling until the final whistle, Omaha held on to take down San Francisco, 1-0.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Sylvain and Park tied for the team lead for three shots each, which also marks a season-high for both through three games played so far.
- Waltz finished with a season-high seven saves in the cage for USF, which also marks his most in a single game as a Don.
- As a team, San Francisco led Omaha in total shots, 17-11. To start the season, the Dons have outshot their opponents in all three matches so far.
