DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • San Francisco enters the week in a tie for sixth place in the WCC standings after falling to Washington State in a 74-58 matchup on the Hilltop last Thursday and dropping a contest 76-64 at Pacific last Saturday.
  • Angeliki Ziaka had her second career 20-point game against the Cougars on Thursday, scoring 20 on a near-perfect nine-of-11 shooting. Against the Tigers, Freja Werth logged her second double-double of the season with 24 points, including a nine-for-11 outing from the free throw line, while grabbing 10 rebounds.
  • The Dons continue to be one of the WCC's best offensive teams in conference action, ranking top-three in scoring (third, 69.4 ppg), three-pointers made per game (second, 8.2), and free throw percentage (second, 74.7).
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS:
  • Oregon State sits alone in fifth place in the conference, splitting its last two games after beating San Francisco on January 9. Last week, the Beavers captured a narrow 74-72 victory at Santa Clara on Thursday before falling to Portland 86-61 on Saturday.
  • Despite the loss to the Pilots, senior forward Kelsey Rees shot a career-best 10-for-10 from the free throw line, ultimately leading the Beavers in scoring on Saturday with 14 points.
  • Rees continues to lead the WCC in rebounding within conference action, averaging 8.6 boards per game while ranking seventh in the league in scoring (15.4 ppg).
  • Along with Rees, Oregon State as a team has been the conference's best on the boards in league play, leading the WCC with 41.5 rebounds per game.
SCOUTING THE TOREROS:
  • After finishing its non-conference slate with a 4-5 record, San Diego has struggled mightily in WCC action, losing all eight conference games so far this season.
  • Last week, the Toreros dropped two narrow contests that could have gotten them in the win column, falling 68-66 against Pepperdine last Thursday before losing 55-52 at LMU last Saturday.
  • Within conference play, three Toreros are averaging double-figure scoring in graduate Ava Ranson (11.4 ppg), senior Truitt Reilly (10.5 ppg), and senior Kylie Horstmeyer (10.3 ppg). Truitt also ranks sixth in the WCC in rebounding, averaging 7.9 boards per game in conference action.
  • As a unit, San Diego has excelled in cleaning the offensive glass in conference action, leading the WCC in offensive rebounds per game (16.4).
  • Before hosting the Dons on Saturday afternoon, the Toreros will welcome Saint Mary's to Jenny Craig Pavilion on Thursday night.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Thursday night's contest will wrap up the regular season series between San Francisco and Oregon State, with the two programs facing off for just the fifth time in the last 18 seasons. The Beavers took the first matchup of the season, capturing a 64-57 victory on Thursday, Jan. 9.
  • San Francisco and San Diego will face off for the 83rd time in program history on Saturday afternoon, with the green and gold holding a 46-36 all-time series advantage. The two teams last met in last year's regular-season finale, with the Dons taking a 68-66 win on the Hilltop on March 2, 2024.
