DONS AT A GLANCE:
- San Francisco kicks off a two-game home stretch following a convincing 68-55 victory at Long Beach State on Thursday, Nov. 20, at The Gold Mine.
- Candy Edokpaigbe surpassed the 20-point threshold in a game for the third time this season, recording 22 points on 56.3 percent (nine-for-16) shooting, while adding seven rebounds, a season-high four assists, and three steals.
- Noelia Mouriño totaled a career-high 17 rebounds against the Beach, the most by a first-year player in the Molly Goodenbour era. Her rebounding effort marked the first time she has posted double-digit boards in a game and set the West Coast Conference's single-game high to this point this season.
- Following her efforts in the win over the Beach, Edokpaigbe was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday, Nov. 24.
- Through five games this season, Edokpaigbe leads the team and ranks first in the West Coast Conference in scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game. She has scored in double figures in four of the five games played while reaching 20+ three times. She also ranks second in the WCC in field goal percentage (.565), fifth in steals per game (2.2) and minutes per game (31.0), and 13th in total blocks (five).
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS:
- Lehigh kicked off its Northern California road trip last Sunday and dropped a 98-43 decision to Stanford at Maples Pavilion. Belle Bramer led the Mountain Hawks in scoring, totaling 13, the lone player to score in double figures. The program shot a season-low 30.2 percent (16-for-53) from the field while missing 25 of its 31 three-point attempts. Lehigh's road trip is the first visit to the Golden State since December 11, 2016, in a 96-63 loss at California.
- Lehigh has four players averaging double-digit points through six games this season, with Jessie Ozzauto leading the team at 14.5 points per game. Along with Ozzauto's scoring production, Whitney Lind (13.5 points per game), Leia Edwards (11.8 points per game), and Belle Bramer (11.2 points per game) have also guided the Mountain Hawks offensively.
- Freshman guard Leia Edwards was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday, Nov. 24. Edwards averaged 13.5 points per game over two games last week for Lehigh, highlighted by a 22-point effort last Wednesday in the 71-57 home win over previously unbeaten Drexel. Edwards' 22 points against the Dragons came on eight-of-13 shooting from the field. She made one three-pointer and converted five-of-seven from the free throw line.
