PULLMAN, Wash. -- The University of San Francisco women's soccer team (3-10-4, 2-6-2 WCC) came up short in its midweek contest, falling to Washington State 0-3 on Wednesday evening at Lower Soccer Field.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Washington State opened the scoring in the 18th minute, when Jordyn Young curled a shot into the top-right corner off an assist from Audrey Shackelford. Young struck again in the 24th minute to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead. The Cougars added a third goal in the 59th minute on a penalty kick converted by Maggie Mace.
- USF generated several late shots on target from Sydni Yoshida, Danica Lunceford, and Kaitlyn Sasadeusz.
- San Francisco faced 18 Washington State shots, six of them on goal.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Tyra Bengtsson-Stenseth recorded three saves for the Dons out of 18 total Cougars shots.
- San Francisco totaled 17 shots, seven of them on goal.
- Alicia Osegueda paced the Dons with four shots and one on goal.
- Sydni Yoshida added three shots, including two on frame, and Kaitlyn Sasadeusz contributed three shots with one on target.
- Lindsey Chau registered two attempts for San Francisco.
