DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • San Francisco kicks off the WCC slate with a 7-4 record following a 61-55 victory over Sacramento State on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Chase Center, the program's best nonconference mark since going 9-2 at the start of the 2022-23 campaign.
  • In the win over the Hornets, Aina Cargol led the way for the Dons with 14 points and seven assists, the second time she has totaled at least 10 points and five assists in a game this season.
  • Candy Edokpaigbe and Noelia Mourino also scored in double figures, posting 12 and 10 points, respectively. Along with her 10 points, Mourino added six rebounds, including a team-best three offensive boards.
  • Edokpaigbe continues to be one of the best scorers in the West Coast Conference, ranking third at 16.7 points per game. In 11 nonconference games, she has scored in double figures nine times, while reaching the 20-point threshold four times.
  • As a team, the Dons rank third in the conference in steals per game (9.4), fourth in rebounds per game (40.0), opponent field-goal percentage (.379), and assists per game (16.2), and fifth in points per game (68.4).
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS:
  • Oregon State enters its West Coast Conference slate with momentum after winning the Maui Classic by defeating two fellow 2025 conference champions in Montana State (Big Sky) and Liberty (Conference USA). Kennedie Shuler was the Most Valuable Player of the tournament for the Beavers, scoring a career-high 21 in the win over the Flames after recording nine points, five rebounds, seven assists, four steals, and two blocks against the Bobcats.
  • Oregon State is one of eight teams nationally with four players who have at least 10 blocks this season (Néné Sow (14), Lara Alonso-Basurto (13), Lizzy Williamson (12), and Shuler (11)) and ranks 26th nationally with 5.2 blocks per game as a team.
  • Jenna Villa, competing in her first season with the program following two years at Washington State, has emerged as Oregon State's go-to free-throw shooter this season. In two victories over Montana State and Liberty at the Maui Classic to conclude nonconference play, Villa went a near-perfect seven-for-eight from the charity stripe. Through 13 games, Villa ranks ninth in the country in free-throw percentage, connecting on 91.5 percent (43-for-47) of her attempts from the line.
  • Sow has emerged as one of the best rebounders in the West Coast Conference in her first season at Oregon State. Sow is one of seven WCC players with multiple 12+ rebound games after pulling down 12 boards against Arizona State on December 14. Through 13 games this season, she ranks ninth in the conference at 6.1 rebounds per game.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • San Francisco and Oregon State are set to meet for the 14th time in program history, with the Beavers holding a 9-4 advantage.
  • Facing off as West Coast Conference opponents for the first time ever in the 2024-25 season, the Beavers defeated the Dons twice in three games, including a narrow 61-59 victory in the quarterfinal round of the WCC Championship on March 9, 2025. In three games, the margin of victory for the Beavers was only 11 points.
  • In the green and gold's lone victory over Oregon State last season, Freja Werth recorded a game-high 20 points on seven-of-17 shooting, with four coming from beyond the three-point line. Mia Vukšic added 13 points on 62.5 (five-for-eight) shooting in 20 minutes off the bench.
