  • Mara Neira provided an offensive spark for the Dons against the Gaels, leading all scorers with 18 points on 42.8 percent (six-for-14) shooting. She knocked down four three-pointers and added three rebounds and a steal in a confident, high-energy performance.

Reinforcing her strong presence on the glass, she ranks fourth in the WCC at 7.1 rebounds per game and is one of only two freshmen averaging seven or more boards per game.
SCOUTING THE WAVES:
  • Pepperdine arrives on the Hilltop following a 72–62 loss to LMU on Thursday, Feb. 12, that snapped a four-game winning streak. The setback continued a season-long trend away from Malibu, as the program is 4–7 in road games this season.
  • Elli Guiney has emerged as a primary offensive option for Pepperdine, leading the team with 14.2 points per game in her first season playing significant minutes after transferring from UNLV, where she averaged 4.4 minutes per contest last year. The sophomore guard scored 22 points in the Waves' most recent game, including 16 in the fourth quarter, and ranks 11th in the WCC in scoring.
  • Bella Green has been a key contributor off the bench for the Waves over the last five games, leading the team shooting 61.3 percent from the floor while averaging 8.8 points, the most among reserves during that stretch.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Saturday's contest marks the 92nd time San Francisco and Pepperdine have faced off, with the Dons holding the all-time series lead over the Waves, 49–42.
  • San Francisco is currently on a four-game winning streak and has defeated Pepperdine in nine of the last 10 contests dating back to the 2020-21 season.
  • In their two meetings last season, San Francisco won 76–60 at home and 72–48 on the road. This week's matchup is the only regular-season meeting between the teams.
